Battle of Brandywine

Picture
1777 the British, lead by General Howe approach Philadelphia from the Chesapeake Bay. George Washington setup his defense along the fords of the Brandywine creek. General Howe knows this and divides his army into groups one group will fight Washington head on the other will go farther up the creek and attack Washington from behind. The plan worked almost perfectly for the British, Washington was forced to retreat and thought the next couple weeks slowed the British until their takeover of Philadelphia.
